Soldier beam detail for 6ft. of backfill on a 10ft. wall. This was literally a sealed drawing.
Besides the fact that it was drawn with crayons, I can't imagine the 6x6's have a chance of working and those particular baseplates do not have any shear value according to Simpson. The good news is it sets the bar pretty low for standard of care :)

The quality of the drawing, not the contents. The text (apart from the 'footy') is reasonably legible, the lines look straight, and I can understand what's going on. So I wouldn't call the drawing skill bad, but certainly not good either.

Contents aren't bad, either...they're a bit frightening.

I was pretty impressed with the freehanded relatively straight lines and nice use of color. I personally wouldn't guarantee drawing straight and relatively parallel lines by hand.

While I've seen that the catalog doesn't specifically specify shear strength, what is the estimated shear strength and it is out of bed from the expected forces?

TTFN (ta ta for now)

@ PhamENG, I get what you are saying, but this will be built, or try to be built by a non structural engineer.
