Thin substrates 1

Hi

I've been using a thin substrate GML-1100 from GIL technologies to print a cross-dipole antenna. The problem is
that GIL will shut down its substrate operations and I'm forced to use another substrate.

Does anoyone know of thin substrate (less than 10 mills)
that is flexible (in order to bent to desired shape) but
at the same time stiff enough in order not to crack but
also to be able to hold its bended shape?

First pull up the data sheet for GM 1100 and find out the dielectric constant and loss tangent (dissipation factor) for your frequency of interest(3.25 and .004). Then search for similar dielectric materials from 3M or Rogers corp (

Check out Kapton type tapes (

http://www.kaptontape.com/).

They can be supplied with copper clad and etched.

Hi!

Just check with different producers (ROGERS, ARLON, MATSUSHITA etc). They have core materials with thickness even 0.1 mm. They use also prepreg materials with thickness about 0.05 mm. Contact them. Good luck.
