I have been scrubbing the geometry of a complex part in preparation for meshing. The part was built exclusively with solid modeling features (no surface bodies). I used the "delete face" and "extend surface" features in a few places to connect adjacent planer surfaces. Now, when I attempt to mesh, I get the message "Thickness is not defined for one or more shells." SolidWorks recognizes only one solid body & no surface bodies in the part.

Any ideas?

Brendan

please send me your model and describe what you want exactly. I will try to help you.

you should not see any surface on the analysis tree.

if they are there, right-click on them then select "exclude from analysis"

remark: hiding them is not enough, you must exclude them.
