Hi all,
I have a pad eye being welded to a frame. The pad eye has a thickness of 30mm (calculated via DNV standard) and the frame is a box section with 4mm thickness.
I realise I will probably need to insert a plate in-between the two to allow a smoother transition of thicknesses and to help spread the load (I will probably look at using 10mm plate perhaps?). Is there a thickness ratio of what is allowable/good practice?
Thanks.
