How do I quantifly the allowable difference in temperature between the bottom of a 16"NB sch 10s st/stl pipe and the Top?
I am using a small flow of LNG to keep the line cool but do not want to use too much product by cooling down the pipe by more than is required.
I intend to use a 3D analysis programme to give me the temperature at the top of the pipe for any given flow rate.

Check out ASME Section VIII, Division 2, Appendix 4.
