Can sb guide me where to get the solutions manual for the the problems, if possible in pdf format, for the subject book by Russell Mason ?

Good point stevenal, the pdf of the book has review questions at the end of each chapter, but no answers. Given the 50 year time passage on it's original publication, I would say the only hope would be finding someone in (or through) this forum who happens to have used it way back when as a teaching guide, AND kept a copy of the answers. I know of such a person, although he worked for Westinghouse instead of GE at the time. He began selling Multilin years later (which he still does at age 84!), who has since been bought by GE, so maybe there is an exploitable connection there. But knowing him he may have used this book when he was at Westinghouse anyway. I'll ask him next week and scan it if he has it.

Thanks guys. You finally got it right. I was looking for the answers to the review problems. I needed it coz of academic purposes.

To tell you the truth, i have my B.E. in electronics and i am working in power field for the last 6 years or so at a power plant. Couple of months of back i decided to get a Master's Degree in Power. I took the admission but have to clear certain B.E. courses as well. That's where the requirement came from.

I will be grateful if anybody can help.

I wrote GE asking this very question last spring, after downloading the book in its entirety. The answer they gave me was basically what other posters here have already suggeseted - since the book was published so long ago, no one at GE has any record of the solutions manual. It is not available online, in print, or in any electronic form.

However, while this book has stood the test of time, it is still quite antiquated, predating the microprocessor relay by a good 20 years. "Protective Relaying" is a more modern text by J. Lewis Blackburn, also with problems at the end of each chapter. I have not researched the availability of the solutions, but I would imagine they are much easier to come by than the GE book.

Alexandergr8, I saw you saying you are taking your masters in power. Might I enquire as to where you are taking it? I am looking for an online place to take it since most of my jobs keep me moving.

I am not enrolled in an online program. I am rather doing a part time M.Sc. degree from university campus. I have to attend at least 2 classes a week from 4 to 6 pm.
