Looking for some help on using .tfw & .aux files. We currently run Landdesktop and AutoDesk Map. We have got some information for a project from the local GIS department in the county and their files are .tfw and .aux. Is there a way to use these files or conert them over to use in AutoCad? I am pretty sure they are used in ArcView, which is a mapping program, but not sure on how to convert to CAD. Thanks

RA: The .tfw is a tiff image world file and should correspond to a .tif image of the exact same name, only the extensions are different. If you have Autodesk Land Development Desktop R3 it should come with the Map program. Using Map you can insert the image (.tif) file into your plans) "Important" in order for the image file to be scaled and placed in the correct coordinate system the .tif and .tfw files need to reside in the same folder on your system or network.
RA: The .aux extension is another story I have run into these files every so often, most of the time it is what is called Metadata which is just a description of how the data was derived.
