Testing Welders

When qualifing welders once they pass the bellhole and branch this allows them to weld in all positions, all wall thickness,joint design,and fittings, and all pipe diameters, but what about grades(yeilds)?.
less than or up to 42000 including 42000
Greater than 42000 but less than 65000
65000 or greater including 65000
here are 3 different essential variables, does this mean you need to qualify the welder on each of these ? I have been told when testing the only thing that matters is what size of test pipe is being used.

As you are talking bellhole and branch I am assuming you are discussing pipelines and maybe API 1104.
Probably better posting in the API or pipeline sections, rather than a structural welding section.
