I am looking for a testable seal ring for ASME B16.5 6", 8", 10" and 12" 1500# flanges with a ring joint (grooved flanges and metal ring gasket). I would need to test the joint after the connections are assembled to verify the pressure integrity. A hydrostatic (or any other fluid) pressure test of the assembly is not possible as the line does not have pressure barriers on either end.

Any contacts or suggestions will be apprectaited.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide,
Chris.

cludwig,

This company has made items for similar situations (assembled launchers and choke bodies) where hydro is needed prior to final installation.

Thanks for the suggestions. I was finally able to source the seals from Karmsund Maritine, Norway ( The are very expensive, with each seal costing at least several hundred dollars. But this is perfect for intervention work when you need to break containment on a pipeline, affect a repair, and put the pipe line back in service without the possibility of a pressure test. (Such as changing a valve out when there are no other pressure barriers on the line in the vicinity)

As for the cost? ...recharge to the client, so no problem for me!

Chris.
