Does any one know the relation between hardness and tensile strength of fiber preform (composite materials).

Is there any ASTM standards are avaliable.

thanks

The problem with composites is that often the strength and hardness of the matrix and fill are different by an order of magnitude. A simple hardness measurement will not tell you enough (fill fraction, bonding, cure, lay angles and so on). It may be useful to compare two 'identical' samples.
