Hi all,

Our original AHU is broken, so we're using a smaller capacity one. However, the rooms that used to receive the conditioned air are starting to get too hot as the weather gets warmer ofc.
Usage of portable ACs in the AHU room do nothing, and we cannot place them inside the rooms, as they are supposed to be clean rooms (no openings). Additionally, we have a ceiling plenum, so that placing the portable AC's outlet on the return grill will simply warm up the plenum and worsen the situation (as I imagine). I see no way out to alleviate the heat while our new machine doesn't arrive.

Is there a way to make the portable ACs work, even if only for the most important room, without compromising ACH? Can you guys think of another way, maybe tweaking the dampers or similar...

Thanks for the help.

Install a split AC.
Another option is a water-cooled temp AC. but they likely are illegal on permanent basis since they waste water.

Whoever is in charge of that place should think about redundancy... sounds like operation is mission-critical.

Talk to York, Trane or Carrier to rent truck mounted self contained AHU and air cooled dedicated chiller. They will run flex supply and return ductwork to the clean room. Tell them required air pressure to overcome HEPA filters, ductwork and flex ductwork.
