Hello, we have a new single-screw melt extruder that we bought a little while back. I have to enter all of the data about the various gauges into a database: Model #, Serial #, Manufacturer's range and tolerances, etc.
I've seen this on some temperature controllers, where the accuracy is listed as something like:
±0.2% of reading ±1 LSD.
How is this interpreted? If I measure, say, 300°C, does that mean
300*0.002 = 0.6
300±0.6
and then additionally ±1, so
300±1.6?

Yes, that is typically how people interpret it.
But you also have to allow for the tolerance of the sensor.
In some cases it depends on where you are in the range also.
Nothing is too easy.

So, we also have some Eurotherm temp controllers. They have an accuracy listed as:

0.25% of reading, ±1 LSD, ±1°C/F

I'm at a loss as to how to interpret this. 0.25% of reading, additionally ±1 LSD, additionally ±1 °C/F?
