Hi everyone,

I went through this thread ( something came to my mind as a question: In ASME Sec. VIII Div. 1 - UG-25(e) it is mentioned that Telltale holes shall not be used for vessel that are to contain lethal substances. In this case, how would be the Reinforcing Pad welding? How welding gases will be release out from the space between the RePad and the vessel wall?

Regards!

Telltale holes as described in UG-25(e) are not the same as those imposed in UG-37(g). The former are not through holes and are drilled in the vessel wall, the latter are through holes in the repad only, and the limitation you you are referring to is not applicable to these.

Prex,

Thank you very much for this clarification... I was misunderstanding two very different things with the same name.

Thanks again,
