Hi all,

I would like to obtain technical opinion from folks here about the fact of installing TECK 90 power cables in cable cones normally used for portable trailing cables (used in mines).

TECK 90 is an armored cable also suitable for direct burial and have sufficient strength to exposed installation. However, I normally see them installed aboveground in cable trays or in special cases, conduits. I have never seen ones installed self hanging at grade on cable cones.

The CEC code or NEC code does not say any prohibition on installing armored cables (i.e. TECK 90) in cable cones. But I would think that the physical strength of the cable is suitable.

Any thoughts?
