Dear all,

I have 01 other question regarding to the TCC plotting.

For example, we have 01 6.6kV motor from Toshiba, then 01 set of Mitsubishi fuse, and 01 Mitsubishi VCB (for motor, and motor control center).
Then 01 set of Merlin Gerin fuse (for 22/6.6kV transformer outgoing)

Transformer incoming, we have 01 set of 22kV branch Merlin Gerin Switchgear, another 01 set of 22kV incoming MG Switchgear. (protection relay is

What I mean is how to make a plot indicating all of their coordination? By hand or software? I received the coordination plot from Japan (including motor and motor control center).

If by software, how can I collect all of the information such as (motor starting curve, motor damage curve, fuse curve, switchgear curve to apply… even ETAP 4.4 also cannot provide all).

Actually, this has been irritating me a long time. As I read in some books, how they can plot such a nicely coordination in plotting paper?

Thanks

Merlin Gerin Switchgear's protection relay is Sepam type.

Commercial software packages have large libraries of such devices. If it is a modern device and not in the library with the software, the publisher will usually add it upon request.

You can of course do it by hand also.

Alehman,

I am not working in an Electrical consultant company. Therefore, consideration to buy such a software just to make coordination curves seems so funny in my case. It would not be cheap, wouldn't it? Or, is there any free software for this out there?

After I received their side plot, I had to be responsible for our own equipments curves. Should I draw my curves above them? If it should, my curves look very ugly.

I guess that there must be a method of hand drawing.

Anybody faced with this problem before? Please help.

HienN:

For exact data you need to consult the motor manufacturer. As for ETAP they should have typical motor data for the size and voltage. If not, they will certainly provide their library data upon request. You do need the current license for the software.

If it is really critical, engage a professional's service.

Rbulsara,

I see what you mean. Actually, it is not so critical. The foreign supervisors just need to see how all of the protection equipments are coordinated in the plot.

Last year, for their part, they sent me a very goodlooking and professional plot including single line diargam for all of their equipments and asked me to provide my own. (I was responsible for the transformer outgoing 6.6kV fuse and the incoming transformer switchgears).

Last year, I use pencil and draw overlapping on the old one. But I cannot revise the singline diagram.I still remember how difficult and "funny" it was.

This year, I am sure that it would come again because I am working with them on the other project.

Any hands-on experience or suggestion is highly appreciated.

Hien

Now a days, software is used, which do produce nice looking plots of TCC (Nice does not mean correct all the time!).

For hand use, you need manufacturer's published curves.
