When I change my tap size I would like the C'bore to change size accordingly. Is there a way to make a tap hole associative to the c'bore without using the word equation?

Thanks.

Have you tried the Hole Wizard?

I use the hole wizard to create all of my taps and c'bores. But I select a size from the "size" drop down menu. Is there another way to select the size?

Are you talking about a c'bored hole in one part being associated to a tapped hole in another?

If so, take a look at the Hole Series function.

Yes the Hole Series will work. Thanks.

The Hole Series function does have its problems. Mainly it decides which plates to add the holes to, which often times is more than just the plates you are concerned with.

Use with caution.

Ken ... can you explain more please?

Make an assembly with 3 equally sized plates mated one on top of the other. Now use Hole Series to put a clearance hole in the top plate and a tapped hole in the middle plate. The bottom plate should not have a hole in it.

How many extra steps are required to get these results?

For me it involvles hiding (or suppressing) the bottom plate, inserting the Hole Series, then un-hiding the bottom plate. Not that big of a deal with the 3 component assembly...but as the number of components go up so does the chance for User error (since it's up to the User to prevent the Hole Series from inserting holes in any plates that intersect the centerline axis of any Hole Series hole, and anything that requires the User to remember to do additional manual steps is bound to cause problems/errors).

If only the the Hole Series had a Feature Scope...imagine the possibilities.

If I there is a better way, please enlighten me,
Ken

Unfortunately, the way you describe (hide or suppress) is the only way I know of.

Ehancement Request anyone?

A guy at work downloaded SW2007beta and said that this appears to have finally been fixed...we'll see.
