Hi friends I am using Pro-E Wildfire-4.0 .. I am doing a
surfacing model.. can I know how to check the tangency of
the surface and also I want to know how to do the thickness
analysis for a model...

Please help me with in details .. I am a biginner

To Check tangency and surface/curve analysis:

Analysis> Geometry> Curvature.

Select the surfaces or curves you want to check. You will get a graph.

To Check thickness:

Analysis> Model> thickness.

Select the plane in which you wish to analyze (usually the draft plane) and enter the Max & Min wall thickness you wish to achieve. If the model contains wall sections outside of these parameters they will be highlighted.

tangency could be checked visually using reflection tool or numerically investigated using "Dihedral angle" tool. if this angle is zero on the common edge of two surfaces, they are tangent. it can't be done with curvature analysis.

Well that is not strictly true?

You can use curvature anaylsis in the same way that you use the reflection tool - of course its a visual reference on with both of these methods, but often that is enough for most application. Unless of course you are designing airoplane wings, then you should probably take it a step further ;)

As for checking curvature/tangency with data anaylsis, I agree with solidworm....Dihedral angle.

However your best option is to ensure tangency and curvature when you are creating the surfaces. This will save youa lot of pain further down the track if you are working on a complicated model/surface. Whether you are construction your surfaces using freeform/ISDX or boundary curves...they all have ways and means of controlling the tangency.
