I have a tall concrete tank (28') with a small diameter (8'). Normally for my tank design I would refernce the PCA "Design of Circular Concrete Tanks Without Prestressing", but in this case by H^2/Dt value is off the charts for calculating my hoop tension. Is there another good reference that picks up where this one leaves off?

I am running into a similar situation in my seismic calculations as I try to determine the impulsive and convective mass factors.

I think I know what I need to do, but I wanted to some input from you guys.

Thanks in advance,

Forget the charts. Hoop Tension = Pressure X Radius.

You may wish to check AWWA D100 or API-650 for the seismic factors you need for a tall tank. They both cover the full range of tank H/D.
