Here's my question. I have just joined a company that primarily has allen bradley equipment installed in it's process control systems. My question is are there other manufacturers that make PLC's that are compatible with allen bradley equipment? If so could you recommend one for me. thanks

Hi Animated...

Your question is a bit difficult to answer. Specifically what A-B equipment are you wanting to interface to? What protocols? There are lots of other PLC manufacturers out there, but they generally do not natively support A-B's proprietary Data Highway Plus, Remote IO, or ControlNet networks. Instead, as you would expect, they natively support their own proprietary network protocols plus other 'open' networks such as Ethernet and DeviceNet. Lots of Human-Machine Interface (HMI) software packages do speak these network protocols however. If you could be more specific I'm sure someone can help.
