Synthetic oil 1

I am planning to switch oil in my 2004 Sportster to synthetic. Does ALL the petroleum oil have to removed and if so, how does one get all the oil out.

Thanks for the advice.

Think I'll do a second oil change after 50 or so miles for no particular scientific reason.

I though dimantle was the way, but hope does spring eternal.
 
It's not like changing oils in an A/C system when you change refrigerant; the engine oils are miscible and compatible.
