SWX2008 sp2.1 Open Extra Files

I recently installed 2008sp2.1 on Windows Vista. Now when I open a part, other parts are opening along with the main assembly. Not all components are opening but strangely, those that open are not even associated with the one I need to open. Thanks.

options / system options / external references / load referenced documents drop down and set to NONE

I think this is what you might be looking for

Some references can be quite obscure. Have you double checked using Find References tools?
