Run a search you can find a lot of information here already.
Onward....
If there is a completely bug free CAD system I would love to see it!!
SW05 IMO is stable. I don't have near the problems some people are having with stability. But if your not using the proper hardware or drivers, then it's no ones fault but the users. If you use a lot of Crap programs like Weather Bug, WinAmp etc... then you will find an issue with stability. There are so many things that have to be looked at when running SW and if not watched you will have a stability issue. I have mentioned before how many apps(3-5) I have running while SW05 and SW04 are open (at the same time). You would think with all of my apps and 2 versions of SW running, and the fact I always have to change out my settings with other users, that stability would be an issue for me, but for me it isn't? Yes sometimes I do crash, but most of the time it happens when a customer sends me one of their files.
There is no guarantee when you buy software that the stabaility is going to be perfect, because there are too many varaibles. It's your job to limit those varaibles. And SW provides information for you to limit it with. If you take that information and make your system the best it can be then, I think there is room to complain, but not until then.
Bugs - Bugs are a fact of life in software IMO. There is no way to completely keep them from happening, but I think SW does a job in limiting those. Some of the people I have talked too either by phone or through either Forums or Emails. Always say "Well SW should have tested for "this" before it was released". Well my answer to that is "How does SW know what your field is?" Everyone plays a different role in a company. "How can SW test for something that don't know about?" Maybe the users should test SW the same way SW built it, instead of what you do everyday? It can work both ways IMO. Maybe the user is using the software incorrectly? If that's the case, then why should SW fix something that isn't really broken, but rather the user should change the way he/she is building the file in SW to the proper procedure of building the file. There are so many ways to cut this, I cannot begin to imagine. But as for bugs, You show me a completely bug free CAD package, in all aspects of the software and not just what you do for a living and I'll eat this post.
But the only thing you can do is fully test SW with what you do every day. And from there you have to make a judgement call to decide of this Software is right for you or not. [red]But as "Cryo1 mentioned get the Subscription support if you buy it. You might regret later if you don't.[/red]
