Ok so I know once a battery swells it needs to be disposed off..
However, I'm curious as to how the following could happen because I can't seem to find any sites to explain it.
My Dell XPS battery swelled up (probably due to over-heat) in it's first 6 months of service. I exchanged the battery and left it at room temperature in an ESD bag for 3 weeks. When I looked at it again, the swelling was almost gone. How could the gas be re-absorbed? Or did it somehow leak out?
