hello,

i have plasma cnc with torch height controller. the controller outputs dc +- to move the torch up and down.dc
gearmotor, 24v. trying to interface to stepper motor drive.
need the + or - dc approx. 1-2 volts to switch 5v tll for the stepper software to sense direction for up or down.

Hi, what is it you actually want to know? How is the tourch position fed back to the controller?

sorry , should have told more. the torch lifter now uses a dc gearmotor which the torch controller sends + - voltage to drive to lift up or down. starting at 1 volt. i am trying to replace the gearmotor with a stepper motor . the stepper motor can be controlled for the up or down movement by closing 5v dc tll to stepper driver.
i would need a relay or switching circuit so that 1v pos from the torch controller will close switch for the stepper 5v tll to move up. !v neg to close switch to move stepper down.

transistor to trigger separate relays for the 5v tll?

would the reverse 1v be a problem for this?
