Hello,

When creating a swept feature in nx8.5, what are the parameters to use to best represent a rolled sheet metal with a curvature along its length?

I am trying to fit a rolled applique inside a cover and base. I tried using "fixed" and "face normal" and it generated different swept along the arc I am using as a guide.

Here is the swept feature. The blue was swept using face normal and the gray is using fixed for orientation.

Can you provide some sort of sketch showing the relationship between the profile that is being swept and the arc, and its axis, that it's being swept along?

I think I found the part. The object you're interested in is Swept(14) and is 'blue', correct?

Now exactly what is it that's the issue? It looks OK to me.

Thanks for taking the time to look at the part.

I apologize... I used two guides in this swept. Originally I have one arc.
If you use the "curve length (13)" as the single guide, you would have the options for "orientation" method. Using fixed or using the face (Cover b-surface) produces slightly different result.

I am wondering which result would best represent when the sheet metal is "rolled" to create the product.

If you're rolling it relative to the axis of the arc, I would use fixed.
