In Las Vegas they have a test for swell potential using a consolidometer ring and remolding -4 material to 90% of a known density at optimum moisture into the ring. Its dried back and place between 2 porouse stones and then inundated with water and kept saturated untill measurable swelling or vertical movement ceases. Is there anyone familiar with this test?
