What about the dust hazard, what does the consultant say about that? Since they were wrong on Ord Has Grp 1 classification. See below regarding the definition on ex haz Grp 1 occupancies as per NFPA 13.note the word DUST below. Candy mfg MAY have a combustible dust hazard in some section of the plant if they are mixing and blending to mfg the product.
5.4.1* Extra Hazard (Group 1). Extra hazard (Group 1) occupancies shall be defined as occupancies or portions of other occupancies where the quantity and combustibility of contents are very high and dust, lint, or other materials are present, introducing the probability of rapidly developing fires with high rates of heat release but with little or no com- bustible or flammable liquids.
Ex haz 1 is 120 mins on the duration plus 500 GPM hose allowance. That tank and pump just got bigger....
