I am working to add some hoses to an assembly model. I have inserted the models of the hose fittings and also modeled a 3D datum curve spline in assembly mode to use as the hose trajectory. When attempting to make a sweep using the datum curve as a trajectory, I get a "Specified trajectory is not valid" error. I am able to sweep that same trajectory using a variable section sweep, but only as a surface and not as a solid. If I sweep as a solid (which is what I want to do), it completes without any errors, but the sweep is not visible or selectable. It appears in the model tree, but not in the model view or in the assembly drawing I am creating.

Any ideas?

You can't create solid components in an assembly - what you have created is a solid cut.
The only way around this is to create a part purely for the hose detail.
