I recently upgraded to SW2009 SP01 and noticed that I no longer can retrieve files from the vault for PDMWorks. Has anyone else encountered this problem??

My Workgroup PDM Admin icon is greyed out on my desktop also. What's this I hear about Workgroup and Enterprise are they two totally different systems/products.

I tried looking for the SP upgrade for PDM Workgroup and can't find it on the SolidWorks website.

The SP upgraded comes as part of the download for the SW Professional. <directory of install>/pdmwserver/setup.exe

The client for Workgroup is upgraded to the most recent SP when SW is by default.

you can download just the server upgrade for SW client portal, but it's a mes to get too. Basically you go into the downloads section of the customer portal and act as if you were downloading the most current SP for your SW install. When the attached screen comes up cancel the download and click on the link I've circled. This will let you pick through individual installation packages, one of which being PDM server.

Workgroup and Enterprise are two totally different products. They show demos on SW's website for Enterprise that, after watching, will make Workgroup feel like the poor forgotten step child.

Joe,

Thank you that was exactly what was needed. Now I have another question pertaining to the Vault Admin Tool, how do you install the vault admin tool on the client machine.

When we did the upgrade on the server it added the admin tool to the server but I can't get it on my machine. Is there a way to do this. Thanks.

Rerun the install for SW Explorer. Choose "Modify" and step through the screens until you come to the screen telling you what programs will be installed where. The Admin tool will show as a red x. Change that to "This feature will be installed on the local hard drive". Step through the rest of the menus.
