SW2008 Stability

I am encountering a tremendous amount of stability problems with SW2008 and surface, sweeps and lofts. I've been running into 4-5 crashes and a couple of lock-ups per day. I've upgraded to 3.1 some time ago but doesn't seem to help.

I have the minimum or better recommended hardware. I've moved from the network to my local machine but that didn't seem to help either. Very frustrating! Anybody else see these kinds of issues??? Any ideas on a remedy?

First thing to check is the video card driver. Make sure it is certified at

I think SW '08 has been the most stable release yet. I haven't had any of the lockups that I had in previous versions. I did have an issue with crashing when MS Explorer was open due to the thumbnails in explorer, though. However, since I fixed that issue, she's been pretty stable.
