In SW Explorer I would like to know how to make the Description custom prop of the part as a label. (By label I mean the column headers in the right side windows: Name, Size, Type, Date Modified, etc.)

In Options-->Label tab you will see, at the bottom, "Choose 1 custom property to display". The box is grayed out. I found this in the help:

"The list is created from the properties created by the vault administrator on the Properties tab of the VaultAdmin tool.”

I'm not using PDM. All I want is the ability to create a label from the Description custom property of the part or assembly. Is this not possible? Thanks in advance.

Where is the Options > Label tab?

In SW Explorer I only have Local, References/Where Used, Add-ins and Search tabs.

It sounds like that option is only available if the PDM Vailt is used.

That's because you have the PDM Vault active. I don't use PDM so do not have the vault enabled.

right click in the vault view and select "display labels as" and then check descriptions.
