Hi, Having a problem in SW 2011 I was hoping to get some help with. I've created a basic framed part using structural members. It displays fine in Wireframe mode but all other views modes create weird surfaces that seem to connect with the origin. I've attached a couple screen shots. Any ideas?

I have a NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200, SW doesn't list any of the GeForce cards on their approved list but I'm not sure if that means they won't work. Maybe I need a different driver? Or maybe this card really isn't going to cut it?

I built a similar model that didn't have these issues but perhaps the problem is somewhat intermittent.

Thanks!

That's the problem with unapproved cards. Sometimes they work, more often they don't. You could try different drivers, but your best bet is to get an approved card. You can get a decent card for around $160.

Ultimately, it is the fact that it is not a Quadro that is stopping you from installing the correct driver for SW. I've been reading posts like yours for at least 8 years, and it all boils down to this: a non approved card might work, BUT it may give problems. Tech support won't even talk to you if you have a non approved card. The situation today is way better than it was 5-8 years ago, when a decent approved card cost upwards of $650.00. Unless you are doing really big projects a budget approved card should be plenty good.
