My SolidWorks (2012, SP2) began to crash when I try to assign a material to an object. It does it every time. This started after the latest version of DraftSight was installed in mid-November. This was an upgrade, I had DraftSight on there already and SW worked fine.
RE: 2012, SP2; my boss is an idiot. There's nothing I can do about it. He won't listen, you can't tell him anything. He'll say we must stay one SP behind, then when you point out the obvious, he changes his line to "we must stay one release behind". Then when you point out the obvious again, he launches into gibberish double-talk.
NOTE: Our IT Dept. did the DS upgrade, and I'm sure they just blew through it selecting any default options. There's no way they would read and research and try to make sure they understood how to do it best. They're IT guys, far superior to mere mortals and don't need advice from others.
Any ideas as to a fix on SW? When I select the material to assign to an object, SW goes dead briefly, then closes and gives me the error box "SW experienced a problem and had to close." (or something like that)
