SW and Adobe Reader 7.0 Problems

I've been converting a lot of pdf manufacturer prints into parts for a new project I'm working on. I have SW06 4.1 open on the left and Adobe Reader 7.0 on the right.

I am finding having these two programs open together at the same time is making SW quite unstable. I'll crash when skethching in a part, having a drawing open and then going into the part to edit it, working with mates in an assem, and when I go to tools -> options the Sytems Options window that pops up will extend out into an infinite desktop.

As soon as I close Adobe Reader 7.0 everything is stable. Can anyone else repeat my problem?

I haven't checked that exactly like you have, but I've noticed Adobe-Reader-related stability problems in the past (not just with SolidWorks), especially with v. 6.

Do you have the latest updates for Adobe Reader? If not, see if that helps.

I haven't seen any problems like that.

What video card & driver are you using?
How much RAM do you have?

I'm good on the Quadro FX3000 and the recommended driver. 2 gigs with the 3 GB switch. I've got the latest Acrobat Reader. I've got a monster XI rig at home that I'll see if I can repeat.

I am really noticing something with adobe products. Its not all the time either. Adobe Illustrator CSII could be the culprit. When I have Reader 7.0 and SW opened I can't get AI to run correctly. SW will become unstable with Reader 7.0 opened. I can't fully repeat it all the time, but other programs get flackey as well. It can get bad when I have IE with a pdf open and a pdf from my hard drive opened. It seems like there are MS dll's that have dependencies on each other that have conflicts when certain products are open. I'll do some more testing before I can say whether or not there is a bug. It may have something to do with AI CSII because I never really ran into this before, even with Acrobat reader 7.0, which, I am a huge fan of how fast it opens docs.
