I have about 30 tons of B7 rod that has Suspect tag with no heat # or order #. What would be the proper way to get the material back to active status?

The obvious first step is to test the material to determine if it conforms to all measurable properties of ASTM A193 Grade B7 including composition, hardness, and macroetch examination. If they conform, you should be able to issue your own material certification for the material as outlined in A193 Section 16.

You have a nonconformance and final disposition will depend on the end use of this material and to what code or standard for the application. It could be as described above or an independent lab may need to certify the material based on conformance to the original material specification requirements.

Sell to Chinese supplier.

Place order with Chinese supplier requiring full documentation.
