i have been working in surveying for a few years, i am struggling at finding how-to information on boundary, topographic and construction calculation. my co-workers blatently refuse to share their knowledge and my boss is even less helpful. could anyone recommend a book or publication to learn more from?

Take a course at your local community college, search amazon.com, try a good used book store, try e-bay, try google, subscribe to magazines such as Point of Beginning, or Professional Surveyor.
It sounds like you should think about working for a different firm.
