How does Super P work. I know what it does and have used it over thousand times in over the years, but how does it work, how does it get it results without hurting the concrete. Reason why i ask, many people have ask me this and I want to make sure my story correct.

Cement particles have a pretty even distribution of + and - ionic charges on their surface. This makes them like to stick to each other similar to static holding a balloon on the wall. Super P's or high-range water reducers attach themselves to the +/- charges of cement particles leaving typically a "-" charge sticking out. Now these coated cement particles will behave similarly to two like ends of a magnet, they will now repel each other rather than attract each other. During initial hydration, this ionic film is stripped off and the concrete goes back to behaving like it would without having the super in it.
