Does anyone have any experience with the use of bottom sumps on tanks in jet fuel service? I have typically seen these tanks utilize floating suctions. I have concerns with a bottom sump due to product impurity. I would appreciate any comments that anyone may have.
Thanks.

Seems like I've seen bottom sumps in jet fuel tanks, but they were for water draw-off, not normal fuel withdrawal. But I've also seen jet fuel tanks with non-floating suctions down low.

My experience is same as JStephens regarding sump use in jet fuel service.

Dude..

This is a link to a system designed specifically to purify Jet fuel waste drawn from the bottom of the tanks.

Like distilate, the ingress of water is inevitable. Tank bottoms must be periodically drained.
