What can be used in place of Genetron 141b (dichlorofluoroethane)to dissolve (really disperse) silicone compounds such as aminofunctional siloxane or dimethyl silicanes and silicones. These dispersions are used to coat medical hypodermic needles and internal syringe parts. The federal government is banning the importation of Genetron effective Jan 1, 2002.

HCFC's are Class 2 defined by EPA as ODS. There is a phase out over the next 18 years of all Class 2 substances from being manufactured or imported in the USA. The 141b deadline is 12/31/02, but it can continued to be sold and used until existing stocks ard depleted.

Other HCFC's will work such as 134a and 152a. Also a HC, such as hexane and isohexane, propelled by LPG, work just fine. The parallel question is what air movement capabilities and limitations do you have in your clean room? Are you limited to only using another HCFC or do you have other options such as TCE premixed using your own spray system?
