why ASME Sec II, Part C, Sfa 5.4 not define the minimum required yield strength for stainless steel weld but minimum required y.s. for base metal is define in Asme sec II,part A.
Because for weld procedure qualification, all that is important is the ultimate tensile strength of the weld and base materials for comparison, not the yield strength.
right but in the case of elecrode E7018 or E9015B9 ,asme sec ii,pat c has define minimum required ys and uts for weld produce by this electrode.
why not define for minimum required y.s. for weld deposite by e308-15/16 .
No, not for a weld procedure. The minimum tensile properties, like YS, are listed for information purposes in the SFA specification. The YS for stainless steel can very considerably, and the committee felt it was unnecessary to list this in the SFA specification, period.
