Stress distribution in compacted soil 1

The stress distribution under a footing is generally calculated with a slope of 2V:1H. It seems this angle should increase for a structural fill soil that is compacted to 95% proctor? I could not find a reference and would like to hear from soil experts here if there is any relationship between the distribution angle and soil relative density or gradation. Thank you.
 
it should change, the stiffer and stronger the soil the more load spread there is. But 2:1 is good enough for the accuracy of our soil parameters etc.

I wouldnt go arguing to change it just because you have 95$
 
You could always go to the Boussinesq charts/equations - again, as EireChch says, unless it "really makes a difference" - the 1H:2V is good enough . . .
 
Can't build anytthing much cheaper than concrete footings. Not much potential to save any real money there.

Einstein gave the same test to students every year. When asked why he would do something like that, "Because the answers had changed."
