Can anyone recommend literature on the subject?
I am particularly interested in literature that addresses the subject of load evaluation upon steel towers for power lines.

Get a copy of

1. "ASCE 10-97 Design of Latticed Steel Transmission Structures". That is all you need for towers design.

2. "ASCE-48-05-Design of Steel Transmission Pole Structures" for poles structural design.
