After putting a 3/8 pipe tap into the side of a casting, long dashed lines appear in the model. The hole is in a boss but it breaks out on the curved wall of the casting. That might be the source of the problem.
The thread and hole appear normal when viewed directly on, and the isometric view is normal. But in any of the orthogonal views a very long dashed line shows up. The line is several times longer than the part. I think it is where the tap drill breaks out. The pipe thread itself is contained within the thickness of the wall. Turning off the cosmetic thread made no difference.
The line also shows up in the drawing views but it only extends to the edges of the part and not beyond it as it does in the model. There has been no problem with other holes, but they break out into flat surfaces.
Maybe it is just a glitch. I can always hide the lines on the drawing.
