Storing Low Hydrogen Electrods

Hi,
I would like to know how long LH electrods can expose to atomosphier without baking or redrying. Do we need to rebake LH electrodes in 350C if the welder turns off the portable oven ,which was in 130C, for 1-2 hours (let's say for break)?

Technically YES, but if you are using the E7018H4R, it has not been a problem in my experience. Your Mileage May Vary

The environmental conditions dictate how long the covered electrodes can be exposed to ambient conditions.

You can refer to AWS D1.1 for guidance since API 1104 nor ASME pressure piping codes do not address the subject.

The physical requirement is that the rods NOT be coolded off sufficiently so that air (moisture!) gets into the oven and is absorbed into the cold rods.

To prevent that, the ovens must be kept hot - way above the condensation limit for short-time door openings for reloading rods and getting them out.

So, if the power was off for a while, but the oven didn't cool down; if the door didn't open to let in moist air, there is no problem. BUT! You have to establish that fact by some real-world numbers or evaluation in the log.
