A tall 304SS vertical tower is to be rated for Full vacuum external pressure. Stiffener rings are required per calculations.

If stiffener rings are not allowed on the O.S., can they be put on the I.S.?

If they are on the I.S., do they have to be continuous?

Do you not have a copy of the ASME code? If not, you need to get a copy, even an old copy will be more help to you than none.

Yes, you can put them on the inside.
Yes, they are continuous, as far as I've ever seen, just don't have to be continously welded on.
