Hi All,

Is it possible to make a setped in 3D using Section option? Would need to section a big assembly and show most of the components in 3D.

Thanks in advance
Srikanth

Yes, it can be done with Section View command (menu PMI/Section).
1. select Section View command
2. in first step, you can define, which parts you want to section in the assembly
2. then, draw the closed geometry in Sketch environment.
3. define the depth of the section cut
4. define additional parameters in Settings group as needed.
Your view is now stored in Model Views.
I have also uploaded a video, recorded in NX9. But I guess, that it is similar in older versions. The movie is zipped with 7zip.

hope it helps.

We do not have the NX9 right now, but will be migrating to it in couple of months
