Can anyone tell me the code provisions for required steel stud joist blocking under a load bearing steel stud wall. Does the code address this issue? Are there any recomendations? My basic concern is if it has to be solid blocking under the wall.

I also want to add, whether the typical joist blocking loacted @ 1/4 of joist span is adequate or if the solid blocking has to be right under the load bearing wall.

You should be concerning about the web crippling that will take place if you crush the webs of the studs, or the webs of the blocking. Check that.

The joist are C- sections back to back and they are web stiffners so the web crippling has been accounted for. My question is if the code recommends blocking for the twisting of the joist under gravity load.
