When designing a steel stair that turns 180 degrees with an intermediate landing between floors to accommodate inter-story drift, is it necessary to provide slotted connections to accommodate drift in BOTH orthogonal directions, or is it only necessary to provide slotted connections to accommodate drift parallel to the stair runs? Thanks in advance for your input.
