Dear everbody,
We are now fighting in a concrete corrosion problem in Turkey.
A rough description : One of the main inputs in the production is the NaCl. The factory was maintained on the concrete structure & mostly it is in contact with the media includes chloride ions or the it's vapour. These ions are diffusing into the concrete and reach to the steel rod reinforcements. Since the ratio of the chloride ions in the concrete is very high, they remove the passive film on the steel rods which means the lost of strength of the concrete composite structure.
What we thought to reduce the chloride ions effect : applying the Chloride Extraction method!
My first question : we can not able to apply the method to the all concrete structure in the plant. Since the steel reinforcings touch eachother in the concrete, they are now in electrical contact. In this position, do we apply the method only a specific part of the whole plant concrete structure.
Secondly; does any one have any bright idea or experience on our problem?
Thank you all in advance!
