I need to use a steel plate to spread (distribute) the load from some new equipment on an existing floor slab. The reason for the plate is that each of the new pieces of equipment has different arrnagments of point loads.

Can someone recommend a good (and hopefully cheap) software program or have simplied methods to analyze the plate? It will always be uniformly supported underneith on the floor slab ,but, the point loads on top from the equipment will vary in location and magnatude.

Any help would be appreciated.

You might try the sheet in the first site below under Plates -> (bi)Elastic foundation -> Rectangular -> Free edge -> Conc.load.
This is for a single load: you'll need to add yourself the effect of multiple loads.
